Emend® (fosaprepitant dimeglumine) is a sterile lyophilized powder in a single-dose vial for intravenous use. It is only to be used after reconstitution and dilution and is stable for 24 hours at room temperature. The usual dosage is mentioned in the prescription information. The vial must be refrigerated at 2°C-8°C (36°F-46°F). The drug should not be used with solutions containing divalent cations, including lactated Ringer's solution and Hartmann's solution. Inactive ingredients include edetate disodium, polsorbate 80, anhydrous lactose, sodium hydroxide, and hydrochloric acid for pH adjustment. The manufacturer of Emend® is MerckSharp & Dohme, a subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc. The active ingredient is formulated in the US and is from France.*
