This is a list of adverse events reported during a 6-month treatment with Synarel® 400 pg/day versus Danazol 600 or 800 mg/day. The adverse events are categorized into hypostrogenic, androgenic, local, and miscellaneous. Hypostrogenic adverse events include hot flashes, decreased libido, vaginal dryness, and insomnia. Androgenic adverse events include breast size reduction, edema, seborrhea, weight gain, hirsutism, and increased libido. Local adverse events include nasal irritation, while miscellaneous adverse events include depression and weight loss. There is also a graph showing the percentage of patients experiencing these adverse events.*

Synarel® (nafarelin acetate) nasal solution is a medication delivered intranasally with each actuation delivering approximately 200 meg nafarelin. The carton comes with a bottle of nasal solution along with spray pump, patient information, and complete prescribing information. It contains 2 mg/mL nafarelin base in benzalkonium chloride, glacial acetic acid, sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid (to adjust pH), sorbitol, and purified water. This medication should be stored upright at a temperature range of 15-30°C and kept away from light and children. Dosage and use details are provided in the accompanying prescribing information.
