LANTUS® is a prescription medication that contains insulin glargine for subcutaneous injection only. Each dose size of LANTUS® has 100 Units per mL. The solution is clear and colorless with no visible particles. Other components of LANTUS® include zinc 1.32 mg/mL, m-cresol 1.72 mg/mL, glycerol 16 mg/mL, and water for injection. It is indicated for the treatment of diabetes mellitus type 1 and type 2 in adults. Dosage and administration must be in accordance with the prescribing doctor's instructions. LANTUS® must be kept refrigerated at 36°F - 46°F and any unopened vial should be discarded if frozen. Once opened, a vial of LANTUS® can be stored at temperatures not greater than 86°F for up to 28 days, provided it is not stored in direct sunlight or exposed to high temperatures. LANTUS® is manufactured by Sanofi-Aventis in Bridgewater, NJ 08307. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children.*
