Potassium Chloride for injection concentrate is a Pharmacy Bulk Package and must be diluted before use. This solution is not for direct infusion and comes in a 250 mL EXCEL® container. Each 100 mL contains 14.9 g of Potassium Chloride and water for injection. The pH of the solution is 5.4 with an osmolarity of 4000 mOsmol/liter. It is sterile, nonpyrogenic, and contains no more than 25 meg/L of aluminum. The usual dosage and directions for use are listed on the package insert. Following aseptic technique, use a sterile dispensing set to transfer individual doses to appropriate intravenous infusion solutions under a laminar flow hood. The container should be discarded within 4 hours of initial entry, and the overwrap should not be removed until ready for use.*
