The Dextrose Injection is a pharmacy bulk package container that should not be directly infused and must be diluted. Each 100 mL contains hydrous dextrose USP 70 g and water for injection USP. This solution is hypertonic, sterile, and should not be given conjointly with blood as it may cause agglomeration. The container can contain no more than 25 meg/L of aluminum and should be stored at room temperature. When introducing additives, use aseptic techniques, and mix thoroughly.
