PanOxyl Adapalene Gel is a topical medication that is used to treat acne. It is the first FDA-approved topical retinoid to be sold over the counter. This dermatologist-developed and tested medication contains adapalene USP, 0.1%, which is a retinoid that helps to reduce acne. The medication comes with a leaflet that provides important information. Before using this product, read the leaflet and the carton. This product is for external use only and should not be used on damaged skin, by those who are allergic to the active ingredient, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is important to avoid sun exposure, waxing, and contact with the eyes, lips, and mouth during use. Redness, itching, dryness, and burning are common irritations that may occur in the first few weeks of use. It may take up to three months of once-daily use to observe results. If an irritation becomes severe or allergic reactions occur, stop using the product and consult a doctor. Children under the age of 12 require a doctor’s advice before use.*
