This is a description of Magnesium Sulfate in 5% Dextrose Injection, presented in a 100 mL single-dose container. The solution is sterile, nonpyrogenic, and contains 1 g of Magnesium Sulfate Heptahydrate (equivalent to 8.1 mEq magnesium) and 5 g of dextrose, hydrous. It may also contain sulfuric acid and/or sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment. The recommended dosage is not specified, and it must be used only if the solution is clear, and the container is undamaged. The container should be discarded after use.
