This is a drug information sheet for Phenazopyridine Hydrochiloride tablets. The drug provides fast relief from urinary pain, burning, urgency, and frequency associated with urinary tract infections. However, caution should be exercised as it can cause hypersensitivity reactions in people with allergies to foods, preservatives, or dyes. The product should not be used by people with kidney disease or Glucose-5-Phosphata Dehydrogenase (G8PD) deficiency unless approved by a doctor. Overdose may lead to medical complications; hence it should be kept out of reach of children. The drug should not be used for more than two days without consulting a physician. The maximum dosage for adults and children above 12 is two tablets three times a day, while children under 12 should consult a doctor. The product may cause stomach upset; it may reduce stomach upset if taken with or after meals. Inactive ingredients include com starch, microcrystalline cellulose, lactose, magnesium stearate, among others.*
