This is a description of a scalp psoriasis shampoo and conditioner that is being compared to Nizoral. It contains salicylic acid as the active ingredient and is used topically to control seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis of the scalp. It is sulfate, dye, and alcohol-free and controls flaking, scaling, and redness while relieving an itchy scalp. The shampoo should not be used on an inflamed scalp and if contact with eyes occurs, the product should be rinsed thoroughly with water. The shampoo should be used at least twice weekly or as directed by a clinician. The shampoo contains water, sodium C14-16 olein sulfonates, cocamidopropyl betaine, panthenol, ascorbic acid, camellia Sinensis leaf extract, PEG-120 methyl glucose dioleate, linoleamidopropyl PG-dimonium chloride phosphate, polyquaternium-7, melaleuca alternifolia leaf oil Tocopheryl Acetate, and sodium hydroxide as inactive ingredients. It is distributed by Walgreens and is not manufactured or distributed by Johnson & Johnson, owner of the registered trademark NizoralĀ®.*
