This is an oral mucosal protectant tincture containing alcohol and benzoine that is used for forming a protective coating over wounds and preventing recurring canker sores. The product is sealed with either a shrink band or a cap that has "Sealed For Your Protection" printed on it. It is important not to exceed the recommended dosage and not to use for more than 7 days unless directed by a doctor. It is also important to consult a dentist or doctor if the sore mouth symptoms do not improve in 7 days or if irritation, pain, redness, swelling, rash, or fever develop. The product is flammable and should be kept away from spark, heat, or flame. If ingested, contact a poison control center immediately. The directions specify that adults and children aged 6 months and older should dry the affected area and then apply the medication directly to the affected area with a cotton applicator. The medication should not be used more often than every 2 hours. For children under 6 months, it is recommended to consult a dentist or doctor.
