This is a description of a drug called Gentian Violet™. It contains 1% of Gentian Violet, which is an antiseptic used for external treatment of minor cuts, abrasions, superficial skin infections, and surface injuries. It is not to be used in the eyes, and one must avoid applying it to an ulcerative lesion to avoid tattooing of the skin. It is best to consult a doctor before use in case of deep wounds, puncture wounds or serious burns. If redness, swelling, or pain persists, discontinue use of the drug and consult a doctor. Gentian Violet™ comes in a 2FL oz bottle and is a traditional family first aid. It contains Ethyl alcohol and purified water as inactive ingredients.*
