The ointment contains Lidocaine base 5% in a water-soluble base consisting of polyethylene glycol 300 and polyethylene glycol 1450. It should not be used in the eyes and should be stored at 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F). The package insert contains full prescribing information and the usual dosage.
