AMINOCAPROIC ACID is a prescription medication available in multiple-dose vials of 25 x 20 mL that contains 250 mg/mL (5 g/20 mL) of Aminocaproic Acid with Benzyl alcohol as a preservative. It is meant for intravenous infusion after dilution and each ml contains sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid for pH adjustment. The initial adult dosage is 4 to 5 grams (16-20 mL), which can be followed by 1 gram (4 mL) at hourly intervals thereafter. It is nonpyrogenic, sterile and it is necessary to see the enclosed insert for further information. The medication is designed for adult use only and should be stored between 20°-25°C (68°-77°F), with excursions to between 15°-30°C (59°-86°F) permitted.
