This is a description of a medication called Mucus Relief DM. It contains dextromethorphan HBr 60 mg and guaifenesin 1200 g, which help to loosen phlegm and thin bronchial secretions in order to rid the bronchial passageways of mucus and make coughs more productive. The medication also temporarily relieves coughs and impulses to cough to help you sleep. However, it should not be used for children under 12 years old. The product should also not be used if you are taking a prescription monamine oxidase inhibitor (MAO) drug, or for two weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should ask a health professional before use. The medication should be stored between 20° and 25°C.
