This is a description of a Normosol-R pH 7.4 multiple electrolytes injection type 1, USP. Each 100mL contains sodium chloride, sodium acetate, anhyd., sodium gluconate, potassium chloride, and magnesium chloride, hexahydrate in water for injection. It may also contain hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment. This is a single-dose container for intravenous or subcutaneous use and should not be used in series connections. The text also provides the electrolytes per 1000mL and the calculations for osmolarity. It is advised to consult with a pharmacist regarding the compatibility of additives. The container should only be used if the solution is clear and the container is undamaged.*
