Brevibloc is a premixed injection containing Esmolol Hydrochloride in Sodium Chloride. Each mL of this injection comprises 20 mg of esmolol hydrochloride, and the container has 2,000 mg/100 mL of it. It is isosmotic, has no preservatives, and is for intra-venous use only. Each mL of Brevibloc contains 4.1 mg of Sodium Chloride USP, 2.8 mg of Sodium Acetate Trihydrate USP, 0.0548 mg of Gluclose, 0.024 mg of Glacial Acetic Acid, and Hydrochloric Acid and/or Sodium Hydroxide. The pH range of this injection is 5.0 (4.5-5.5). Usual dosage of Brevibloc can be found in the package insert. If leaks are found, discard the container as it needs to be stored at 25°C (77°F), temperature excursions permitted to A. Never add any additives or use it in series connections. If the solution is not clear or colorless to light yellow, do not use it. Otherwise, discard the unused portion.*
