This is a medication description for Ferriprox® (Deferiprone). Ferriprox® is an oral solution medication with 100 mg of deferiprone per mL. It is used with a prescription and a usual dosage is described in the package insert. The medication is not to be taken by children and needs to be kept at room temperature (20 °C to 25°C). The accompanying medication guide must be given to each patient. After opening, it must be used within 28 days and stored in the original package to prevent exposure to light. The medication contains FD&C Yellow No. 6 as a color additive. Ferriprox® is distributed by Chiesi USA, Inc. and manufactured by Apotex Inc. in Canada.*
