It can be used for first aid treatment of minor cuts, scrapes, and burns to prevent infection. It should be applied to the affected area 1 to 3 times daily after cleaning it, and may be covered with a sterile bandage. However, it should not be used for serious burns, deep or puncture wounds, or animal bites. Also, it should not be used near the eyes or on large areas of the body, and should be discontinued if symptoms persist or worsen.
