Nicotine Polacrilex Gum can assist in quitting smoking, but it's important to use it properly to maximize success. Chew at least 8 pieces per day for the first 6 weeks and use it for the full 12 weeks. It's recommended to use it in conjunction with a support program as directed in the enclosed User’s Guide. This product is not recommended for individuals under 18 years of age. If you smoke your first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking up, use Nicotine Polacrilex Gum USP, 4 mg. Do not use more than 24 pieces a day. If you experience side effects such as hiccups, heartburn or nausea, discontinue use.*
