This is the drug facts information for Ultra Strength Tums® tablets containing calcium carbonate as the active ingredient for relieving heartburn and sour stomach. It provides fast relief for upset stomach, heartburn, and acid indigestion. The directions include chewing 2-4 tablets as symptoms occur, no more than 8 tablets in 24 hours for adults and children 12 years and older. It is important not to swallow tablets whole and not to use for symptoms persisting for more than 2 weeks without doctor's advice.
