It temporarily relieves nasal congestion and coughing due to minor throat and bronchial irritation. It contains dextromethorphan, guaifenesin, and phenylephrine. The medicine should not be used by individuals who are taking certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease, or for two weeks after stopping such drugs. If the cough lasts for more than seven days, comes back or occurs with fever, rash or headache, one should consult a doctor. The medicine is available in different doses based on age and should be taken as directed. The medicine also contains several inactive ingredients, including althea, caramel color, and wild cherry.*
