This is a description of an eye ointment called "Stye Eye Ointment". It is a lubricant for the temporary relief of eye dryness or irritation. It can also act as a protectant against further irritation. The ointment has active ingredients comparable to those in "Stye Lubricant." The product comes in a tube and contains 0.125 oz (3.5 g) of the ointment. The bottom ridge of the tube or cap should not be exposed nor damaged before use. This ointment is intended for use only as directed and should not be used for other purposes. If you experience eye pain, changes in vision, continued redness or irritation of the eye, consult a doctor. The product is sterile and should be kept out of reach of children. The directions for use are to wash your hands, pull down the lower eyelid of the affected eye, apply a small amount of the ointment inside the lower eyelid of the affected eye, and do not allow the tip of the tube to touch the eye.
