This is a description of a non-sterile ethanol-based hand sanitizer with 80% ethanol, manufactured and distributed by U.S. Borax Inc. in California, USA. The solution is intended for topical use only and must not be ingested. The product comes in a 3785.41 ml (1-gallon) container and should be stored between 15-30C (59-86F) to avoid freezing or excessive heat above 40C (104F). Apart from the active ingredient- ethyl alcohol, the solution contains inactive ingredients like glycerin, hydrogen peroxide, and purified water USP. The hand sanitizer is meant to reduce bacteria that potentially can cause disease and may be used as a temporary measure only when soap and water are not available. The product has certain warnings such as keeping the solution away from eyes, ears, and mouth, and being kept out of reach of children to avoid ingestion.
