Nitrogen is not life-supporting and can cause asphyxiation and death without warning by displacing oxygen needed to support life. Contact with cold Nitrogen gas or liquid can cause cryogenic burns and freeze body tissue. Liquid Nitrogen spills can cause  a vehicle's metal parts, such as floors, bulkheads, supports, etc. to fail without warning because steel and other materials become brittle at liquid Nitrogen temperatures.
