OXYGEN, REFRIGERATED LIQUID USP is a colorless, odorless gas stored in a refrigerated liquid state. It is an oxidizing agent and can cause severe frostbite. If in contact with combustibles, it may accelerate combustion and even lead to exploding on ignition or impact. Therefore, smoking in its presence is prohibited. It can only be used with equipment adequately cleaned for oxygen service and with pressure-reducing equipments designed for oxygen. It should not be used continuously in high concentrations without monitoring its effect on arterial oxygen content. In case of frostbite, medical treatment should be immediately sought. For emergency use only when administered by properly trained personnel for oxygen deficiency and resuscitation.*
