This is a description of APOKYN® (apomorphine hydrochloride injection), a medication used for subcutaneous administration. It comes in 5 x 3 mL cartridges, each containing 30 mg/3 mL (10 mg/mL) of apomorphine hydrochloride. The medication is only meant for use with the APOKYN® Pen and should not be used intravenously. Each mL of the clear, sterile solution includes 10 mg of apomorphine hydrochloride, sodium metabisulfite, NF, and benzyl alcohol, NF (preservative) in water for injection, USP. The solution may also contain sodium hydroxide, NF and/or hydrochloric acid, NF to adjust the pH. The medication is stored at 25°C (77°F) and kept out of reach of children.
