Acyclovir Ointment USP 5% is a medication for cutaneous use only. Each gram contains 50mg of acyclovir in 2 polyethylene glycol base. It is recommended to store the ointment in a dry place at 15° to 25°C (59° to 77°F). The usual dosage is to apply the ointment six times a day (every 3 hours) for seven days.
