This is a description of a Povidone-Iodine Swab Stick antiseptic used externally for minor cuts, scrapes, and burns. The solution is made up of 10% povidone-iodine equivalent to 1% titratable iodine and is meant for single use only. The distributor is Cardinal Health, manufactured in China. The packaging includes drug facts such as the active ingredient (Povidone-Iodine USP), purpose (antiseptic), and warnings of not being used in eyes, on large areas of body or more than a week without a doctor's approval, discontinuation in case of irritation/redness, and keeping out of reach of children. Directions are also provided on preparation for surgery and in case of antiseptic use on the affected area applied 1-3 times daily and may be covered by a sterile bandage. Inactive ingredients include citric acid, glycerol, Hongxynol10, purified water, and sodium hydroxide.*
