TopCare Magnesium Citrate is a saline laxative that helps relieve occasional constipation. It is available in a 10 fl oz bottle that generally produces bowel movement within 1-12 hours of ingestion. The active ingredient in each fluid ounce is 1.7454 mg of magnesium citrate. An adult or child over 12 years of age may ingest one bottle of 10 fl oz or half a bottle (5 fl oz) in divided doses, whereas children between 6 to 11 years of age can ingest a maximum of half a bottle of 5 fl oz in a day. Magnesium Citrate should not be used for more than a week unless directed by a doctor. Before using this product, a patient must ask a doctor if he/she has any bowel habits that last longer than one week and have rectal bleeding or bowel movements after use.
