This is a drug facts label for a bismuth subsalicylate medication distributed by Topco Assocites LLC. The medication is an upset stomach reliever and antidiarrheal designed to relieve travelers' diarrhea, diarrhea, upset stomach due to overindulgence in food and drink, heartburn, indigestion, nausea, gas, belching, and fullness. It should only be used with the dose cup, and adults and children over 12 should take 30 mL every half hour or 60 mL every hour. The medication should not be taken by those allergic to salicylate, with ulcers, bleeding problems, or bloody/black stool, and those with fever, mucus in stool, and those taking anticoagulation, diabetes, or gout medication should ask a doctor or pharmacist before use. Children and teenagers recovering from chickenpox or flu-like symptoms should not use the medication. Temporary darkening of stool/tongue may occur but consulting a doctor is recommended if symptoms worsen or ringing in ears or hearing loss occurs, or if diarrhea lasts for more than 2 days.*
