This is a description of Equaline, a non-drowsy expectorant medicine that helps to relieve chest congestion and makes coughs more productive. It contains guaifenesin 400mg and is dye-free. Available in immediate-release caplets, the recommended dose for adults and children over 12 years is one caplet every 4 hours as needed. Children aged 6 to under 12 years should take 1/2 a caplet, and children under 6 years should consult a doctor first. However, one should not exceed 6 doses in a 24-hour period, and a persistent cough accompanied by fever or rash may be a sign of a serious condition. Caution must be taken not to use Equaline if the imprinted seal under the cap is broken or missing.*
