Levonorgestrel Ethinyl Estradiol is a combination of two hormones used for effective contraception. The first hormone, Levonorgestrel, is a synthetic version of progesterone and the second hormone, Ethinyl Estradiol, is a synthetic form of estrogen. These hormones work together to prevent ovulation and thicken cervical mucus, preventing sperm from reaching the egg. The formula for Levonorgestrel is C21H28O2 with a molecular weight of 312.4, and the formula for Ethinyl Estradiol is C20H24O2 with a molecular weight of 296.4.*
