Metronidazole Gel USP 0.75% is a topical medication used to treat skin infections caused by certain bacteria. Each gram of the gel contains 7.5 mg of metronidazole as the active ingredient, along with 0.8 g of methylparaben and 0.2 mg of propylparaben as preservatives. The gel is applied a thin film on affected areas after washing, usually twice a day or as directed by a physician. The package insert contains full information on usage, and the gel should not be applied close to the eye. The gel should be stored at 20°C-25°C and kept out of the reach of children. The carton and tube indicate the lot number and expiration date. The puncturing of the tube seal is important, and the gel should not be used if the seal has been punctured or is not intact.
