Nitrous Oxide (NITROUS OXIDE USP) is a gas with hazardous properties that can cause rapid suffocation, frostbite, and combustion. It should only be used by licensed practitioners experienced in administering it who are familiar with its effects, dosages, duration of use, hazards, side effects, and precautions. Additionally, it should be stored and used with adequate ventilation and in equipment cleaned for oxygen service, as well as with caution to avoid getting the liquid on the skin or clothing. If inhaled, it is essential to remove to fresh air and provide artificial respiration if not breathing, give oxygen if breathing is difficult, and obtain immediate medical treatment if signs of frostbite occur.*
