CALAMINE LOTION is a topical suspension used as a skin protectant. Its active ingredients are 8% calamine and 8% zinc oxide. It helps in drying the oozing and weeping of poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac. However, it should only be used externally and as directed. It is essential to avoid getting it into the eyes. If the condition worsens or persists beyond 7 days, individuals should stop using the lotion and ask a doctor. CALAMINE LOTION should be kept away from children, and in case of accidental ingestion, seek professional assistance immediately. Adults and children of over 2 years of age can use the lotion. Before applying the lotion, the skin should be adequately cleansed with soap and water and allowed to dry. Inactive ingredients in the lotion include Avicel, Bentonite Magma, Calcium Hydroxide, Carrageenan, Glycerin, Purified Water, and Xanthan Gum.
