Perrigo® Maximum Strength Hydrocortisone Cream 1% is an anti-itch cream designed to temporarily relieve itching due to minor skin irritations, inflammation, and rashes caused by eczema, insect bites, poison ivy, oak, or sumac, soaps, detergents, cosmetics, jewelry, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, and external anal and genital itching. The cream comes in a 1lb (454 g) tube with the active ingredient hydrocortisone. Users are cautioned to apply the drug externally, to avoid contact with eyes, to avoid direct application to the rectum, to speak with a doctor before using for other purposes, and to stop use if the condition worsens or symptoms persist for more than seven days or recur within a few days. Users are also warned to contact a doctor if rectal bleeding occurs and to keep the product out of reach of children. The cream is intended for use on adults and children two years of age and older, but children under 12 years of age must ask a doctor before use.*
