Ketoconazole Shampoo is intended for external use only and is used to treat dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis in patients. It is advised to contact a physician immediately if a patient experiences generalized allergies such as severe swelling, anaphylaxis, or shortness of breath. Ketoconazole Shampoo has not been tested for its potential to cause cancer, cause fertility impairment, or pass to the baby during the pregnancy. It may cause abnormal hair texture, scalp pustules, skin dryness, and itching as side effects. It is not recommended for pediatric use and only nursing mothers should be cautious upon application. Ketoconazole Shampoo should be applied to the affected area and the surrounding area for 5 minutes and rinsed off with water. Only one application is usually enough. It is available in 4 oz nonbreakable plastic bottles and should be stored between 20-25°C in a light-protected area.*
