Fluorouracil Injection, USP is a cytotoxic agent used for intravenous use only and supplied as a bulk-use pharmacy package. It is not recommended to use a syringe with this injection. It should be dispensed promptly after inserting a sterile transfer device or dispensing. The contents should be discarded if not used within four hours after the initial entry. It should be stored at 20°C to 25°C and protected from light. It is not suitable for direct infusion and should not be frozen. If exposed to low temperatures, it may form a precipitate, which can be removed by shaking vigorously in a warm water bath.*

Fluorouracil Injection, USP is a cytotoxic agent that comes in a Pharmacy Bulk Package with a concentration of 50 mg/mL. It is for Intravenous use only and should not be used for Direct Infusion. The usual dosage should be reviewed in the package insert for complete product information. The solution has been adjusted to a pH of approximately 9.2 with sodium hydroxide, and it should be stored between 20°C and 25°C (68" to 77°F). If a precipitate forms due to exposure to low temperatures, it can be resolubilized in a 2-water bath and allowed to cool to body temperature before use. The contents of the Pharmacy Bulk Package should be dispensed promptly after inserting a sterile transfer device or dispensing set. If dispensing cannot be performed promptly, discard the contents.
