Metronidazole Injection, USP is a sterile, nonpyrogenic solution that is recommended for intravenous use only. It is supplied in a 100 mL single dose plastic container containing 500 mg/100 mL (5 mg/mL) of Metronidazole USP. The container should be protected from light until use and unused portions discarded. Additives should not be added to the container. Each 100 mL contains sodium chloride USP 740 mg, dibasic sodium phosphate +7H,0 USP 112 mg, citric acid anhydrous USP 40 mg and water for injection USP, with a pH of 5.8 and calculated osmolarity of 297 mOsmoliter. The container has a sodium content of 13.5 mEg/container. The injection is not made with natural rubber latex, PVC or DEHP. It has been manufactured by Gland Pharma Limited. Recommended storage is at 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F), with protection from excessive heat and freezing. See Package Insert for more details.*
