It also shows the chemical structures of Hypoxanthine, Xanthine and Uric Acid, which are all related to Allopurinol in terms of their effects and mechanism of action on the body. These molecules are all purines, which are essential components of DNA and RNA. Allopurinol is commonly used to treat gout and kidney stones by reducing the production of uric acid in the body. Osipurinol is the active metabolite of Allopurinol.*
