This is a description of Famotidine, an oral suspension medicine used to treat heartburn and acid indigestion. Each 5 mL of the medicine when constituted to 50 mL contains 40 mg of Famotidine manufactured by Mikart, LLC and marketed by Akorn. The patients are advised to keep the container tightly closed, store it at room temperature, and discard unused suspension after 30 days. The medicine is not suitable for injection, and the inactive ingredients include citric acid NF, confectioner's sugar NF, natural and artificial cherry flavor, natural and artificial peppermint flavor, natural banana flavor, sodium hydroxide NF, and xanthan gum NF.*
