This is a description of a single application cold sore treatment. It includes a unique patented applicator that eliminates the need to touch the sore with your fingers. The pharmacy product uses a new approach to treating cold sores whereby rubbing the sore with the applicator delivers the germicidal medicine directly to the affected area. The product treats two cold sores and also functions as a topical antiseptic. Cold sores and fever blisters are both caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus, typically HSV-1, and are just different popular names for the HSV-caused lesions. It is compared to a product called Viroxyn.*
