This is a cough suppressant medication containing 15 mg of dextromethorphan HBr. It is used to temporarily relieve coughing caused by minor throat and bronchial irritation, such as from a cold. It should not be used if you are currently taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), or within 2 weeks of stopping this medication. It is important to consult a doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure if your prescription medication contains an MAOI. It is also important to consult a doctor before using this medication if you have a cough accompanied by phlegm (mucus), or if the cough lasts for more than 7 days, comes back, or is accompanied by fever, rash, or persistent headache, as these could be signs of a serious condition. This medication is intended for use in adults and children 12 years and over, and the recommended dosage is 2 softgels every 6 to 8 hours, not exceeding 8 softgels in a 24-hour period. It should be stored at room temperature, protected from light, heat, and moisture.
