OXYGEN, REFRIGERATED LIQuID usp is a highly combustible and oxidizing liquid that is extremely cold and under high pressure. It is important to keep the container in an upright position and avoid changing or force fitting connections. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the vicinity of OXYGEN as it can cause fire. Combustibles in contact with liquid OXYGEN may explode on ignition or impact. It can cause severe frostbite, so it is important to keep oil, grease, and combustibles away. Proper oxygen service equipment must be used to handle and store the container. A face shield and gloves must be worn for liquid withdrawal. The container should not be dropped, and suitable hand truck must be used for container movement. High concentrations of OXYGEN can be harmful over a long duration, and it should be used only with pressure reducing equipment and apparatus designed for oxygen. In case of emergency, OXYGEN can be used for oxygen deficiency and resuscitation only by properly trained personnel.
