XYLOCAINE is a medication used for infiltration and nerve block, including caudal and epidural use. It is a 1:200,000 with 2% lidocaine and 400mg/20mL (20mg/mL) with epinephrine. It comes in 20mL vials in a case of 25, with a NDC:51662-1550-3, lot number 123456, and an expiration date of 2030-01-. The medication is methylparaben-free with sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid to adjust pH, approximately 4.5 (3.3-5.5). The injection should not be used if it has a pinkish or darker color or if it contains a precipitate. It is not recommended to autoclave and must be stored at 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F).
