Nystatin Oral Suspension USP is a medication that comes in a 2oz bottle (60mL) and is used for infants, children and adults. It contains 100,000 units of Nystatin per mL and is cherry/mint flavored. It is important to shake the bottle well before using it. It contains a small amount of alcohol (less than 1%) and sucrose (49.8%). To avoid spitting it out, one should place half of the dose on each side of the mouth for infants and young children. Each bottle comes with a dropper and instructions to use for each age group. The medication should be kept away from children and in a tightly sealed container at controlled room temperature.
