Betamethasone Dipropionate Ointment USP 0.05% (Augmented) is a topical medication used to treat skin conditions. It contains 0.643 mg betamethasone dipropionate USP (equivalent to 0.5 mg betamethasone) in a mixture of propylene glycol, propylene glycol stearate, white petrolatum, and white wax. The usual dose is one or two applications daily with a thin layer of the ointment to the affected area without covering. Treatment with this ointment should not exceed 50 g per week. However, the medication should not be used orally, ophthalmically, or vaginally. It is crucial to follow the enclosed instructions carefully to avoid side effects.
