Cystaran is a topical ophthalmic solution used to treat corneal cystine crystal deposits in patients with cystinosis. Each milliliter of Cystaran contains 6.5mg cysteamine hydrochloride, equivalent to 4.4mg cysteamine, along with inactive ingredients such as benzalkonium chloride and sodium chloride. It should be stored in a freezer and thawed for about 24 hours before use, and discarded after a week of use. It is distributed by Leadiant Biosciences and made in Switzerland.
