Retaine® MGD® is an ophthalmic emulsion that helps protect against further irritation or relieve dryness of the eye. The medication should only be used if twist seals on top and bottom flaps are intact, and the drops appear as a milky white solution. The drug should be stored at a temperature between 15°-30°C (59°-86°F). The inactive ingredients include cetalkonium chloride, glycerol, poloxamer 188, tris hydrochloride, tromethamine, tyloxapol, and water for injection. The medication can be used to deliver complete dry eye relief and relieves irritation, providing long-lasting comfort. It is available in single-dose containers, and each contains 0.01 fl oz (0.4 mL) of solution. If the product changes color, it should not be used. Patients should not touch the container's tip to any surface to avoid contamination and should not reuse the opened container. If the condition persists, worsens, or if the patient experiences changes in vision, continued redness or irritation of the eye, they should stop using the product and consult a doctor. Retaine® MGD® is for use in the eyes only, and persons who swallow it should seek medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.*
