This is a drug facts label for TUSNEL DM, a cough suppressant, expectorant, and nasal decongestant medication. The active ingredients in each 5mL teaspoon are dextromethorphan HBr (20mg), guaifenesin (400mg), and phenylephrine HCI (10mg). The medication is intended to temporarily relieve symptoms of cold and minor throat and bronchial irritation, such as nasal congestion and coughing. There are warnings against use with MAOIs, heart disease, diabetes, thyroid disease, high blood pressure, and other conditions. Users are instructed not to use more than directed and to stop use and consult a doctor if certain symptoms occur. The medication is sugar-free and alcohol-free, and it comes in cherry-menthol flavor. Parents should ask a doctor about use in children younger than 12 years. The inactive ingredients include artificial and natural flavor, citric acid, glycerin, menthol, and more. The medication comes in a 16 fluid ounce bulk container for dispensing by a pharmacist.*
